China Extends Visa Fee Reductions for Travellers

Introduced in December 2023 to lower the cost of travel procedures for international visitors, China’s reduced visa fees, originally planned for one year and already extended once through 31 December 2025, will now remain in effect until 31 December 2026.

It comes alongside the recent continuation of the exemption from fingerprint collection for short-term visas, also maintained through the end of 2026. For more details: China Extends Fingerprint Waiver for Visa Applications Until 31 December 2026

Together, these measures aim to make travel to China more accessible and convenient.

Who Benefits?

✔️ International travellers applying for visas to China

✔️ Reduction applies to single-entry, multiple-entry and other common visa types

*Note: The reduction covers only the official visa fee and does not include additional service fees charged by visa centres such as processing or appointment fees.

Why This Matters?

🔹 More predictable travel costs

Travellers and business visitors can plan trips with confidence until the end of 2026

🔹 Encourages international exchanges

Combined with other facilitation measures such as simplified fingerprint collection and visa exemptions, this policy makes visiting China easier than ever

*Note: Visa fees may vary by country. Always check the latest rates with your local Chinese embassy or consulate. Service fees at visa centres are usually not included.
