3 days, 2 nights
As an alternative to the beach scene of Southern Thailand, Khao Sok National Park offers exceptional exploration in a 160-million-year-old rainforest – the oldest in the world! The expansive sanctuary covers an area of 738 sq-km of lowland jungle and this is home to diverse wildlife, including bears, gibbons, elephants and tigers. Our three-day adventure will reveal an environment that is the habitat of over 300 bird species and the world’s largest and most pungent flower, the Rafflesia Kerrii. Khao Sok is additionally famous for its limestone mountains – most of the terrain is an average 200 metres above sea level. Our itinerary includes a boat cruise and a river canoe safari on 185-sq-km Cheow Lan Lake, a man-made natural attraction.
Our adventure commences with collection from Surat Thani Airport, or the train station (depending on individual travel arrangements) between 10-11 am. We then take a transfer to Our Jungle Resort in Khao Sok. After a welcome drink and the check-in to a Treehouse elevated room, we enjoy a set Thai lunch in the riverside restaurant. In the early afternoon we undertake some solo exploration on local nature trails, or visit an organic farm. We meet the guide at 4 pm for organised activities. First, we head to a riverside platform for instruction into the creation of a ‘jungle dinner’ using locally sourced ingredients, cooked in bamboo over an open fire. After enjoying this meal, the guide takes us to Khao Sok National Park where we set off an a 90-minute night safari to spot nocturnal wildlife, with a return at around 9 pm. Overnight is in our elevated treehouses, with the sound of nature as a soothing backdrop to enhance a restful night’s sleep. Overnight at Our Jungle House.
Our Jungle House
We wake to the sound of nature and a view of macaque monkeys playing on the riverbank early in the morning. Breakfast is served in the Jungle Restaurant, with a view of the floating mist over the nearby mountain range. After checking-out of our accommodation, at 9 am we transfer to Cheow Lan Lake Pier and set off on a one-hour cruise to explore the unique limestone karst formations across this body of water. We then check-in to our new accommodation; rooms on rafts suspended above the water. We are free to absorb the spectacular surroundings at leisure and enjoy a swim straight from the decking of our room. We then enjoy a three-course Thai lunch with an amazing vista. In the afternoon, it is time to embark on a short adventurous hike towards a cave, followed by canoe, or boat exploration of the lake’s smaller estuaries. A set dinner is served upon our return at around 6.30 pm, with the rest of the evening at leisure. Overnight at a raft house.
Our final day is packed with exceptional wildlife and cultural experiences. We set off on an early morning boat safari in search of macaques, gibbons, wild pigs and elephants. This is a time when these animals are more active as they forage for food. We return for breakfast at around 7.30 am, followed by one-hour free time to enjoy more local exploration, such as a short canoe trip, or a swim. We then head to Cheow Lan Lake Pier at 11.30 am and transfer to Ban Khao Phang Village. This community project is reached via a picturesque hanging bridge and on arrival we will explore some fruit orchards initiated as a sustainable royal project by King Rama 9. We enjoy a traditional Southern Thai lunch and then continue to the Ban Cheow Lan Women’s Group to get an insight into their weaving enterprise. En route to Surat Thani, we stop at Khao Na Nai Dharma, an impressive Buddhist temple positioned atop a rugged limestone peak. Our final call is Surat Thani Airport, or train station, at around 5 pm for, self-arranged, transportation to onwards destinations.

Travel breaks down borders and brings people together: The nearly 900 million people who travel every year make the sector one of the biggest in the world, a major employer and a key element in the global economy. But this has its downside, too: increasing pollutant emissions from the tourist traffic, loss of coastlines and other landscapes through excessive building development and sexual exploitation of children are just some of the negative consequences of the growth in global tourist travel. In order to minimize the negative impacts and enhance the positive ones, our Corporate Responsibility Strategy focuses on four prime issues:
