Explore caves and mingle with locals as we embark on our three-day adventure on the island of Flores. Upon arrival at Labuan Bajo Airport, we will be met by our guide and set off on our travels, starting at Batu Cermin Cave. Also known as the Mirror Stone Cave, this intriguing site comprises a tunnel nestled in a rock hill in West Manggarai. The cave has earned its name from the walls that glisten in the morning sun from light that pierces through a crevice in the roof. Our next stop is Ujung fishermen’s village and the harbour to get an insight into the daily lives of locals. (During the closure of Batu Cermin Cave, we switch the program for a short hiking to Bukit Sylvia or the stunning hill to witness the sun down (upon weather and time permit) and to have enjoy the beautiful view to the spices island. We then transfer to the hotel for check-in, with the rest of the day at our leisure. Labuan Bajo is a fishing town nestled on the western end of Flores. It boasts stunning scenery and serves as the main gateway to East Nusa Tenggara.

Overnight in Labuan Bajo
Settle into Komodo National Park’s bounty of natural beauty with a day of island-hopping adventures. We set off from the hotel in the early morning and board a boat to take a two-hour cruise to Komodo Island. Here, we embark on a 1.5-hour trek to view the wildlife resident in this idyllic location. We embark on a trek to Banunggulung, passing through dry forest. Along the way keep your eyes open to spot new exotic birdlife, including the lesser-sulphur-crested-cockatoo and collared kingfisher. We then return to the boat and head to pink sand beach. This unique stretch of sand gets its pink hues from red coral fragments. We then board the boat and enjoy the cruise back to Labuan Bajo while enjoying to picturesque surrounding Island. Lunch is served on the boat and dinner is at your own arrangement.

The early bird catches the worm and we recommend rising ahead of dawn to catch a serene sunrise on our last day on this tropical paradise (subject to weather conditions). We can then enjoy a leisurely breakfast and a bit of free time to soak up more of the stunning views served up on Flores. Options include relaxing at the resort, or a quick exploration of Labuan Bajo. This quaint village is nestled in a half-moon bay surrounded by hills that meet the shore. Soak up this picturesque scenery before we drive to the airport for our onward flight full of warm memories of our three-day adventure. We have got up-close to the famous Komodo dragons, trekked through jungles, met friendly villagers to learn about local life and set off on a speedboat island-hopping excursion.
